waitangi museum

euroview were contracted to supply a highly energy efficient, thermally broken window suite for the new National Museum at Waitangi.

The Museum.

HB architecture and Henwood Builders produced a stunning , highly energy efficient building the whole of New Zealand can be proud of.

The building nestles perfectly on its site and the raised motifs in the exterior panels perfectly reflect the surrounding bush.

The glazing by Metro Direct is their Low E N70 which increases the thermal efficiency of the double glazed units, this coupled with our own thermally broken aluminium system ensures heating and cooling costs for the museum are kept to a minimum.

Double sets of loading doors form a thermal airlock. The two sets of doors placed back to back are 4m high x 4m wide and consist of thermally broken frames holding 50mm thick steel sheathed polystyrene building panels, ensuring even the most utilitarian components of the building are attractive and energy efficient.
